Best coffee bars in Amsterdam

As real coffee and breakfast addict I can't NOT share these spots with you. Amsterdam has many cute little coffee bars and breakfast spots. But if you really want the best, where do you need to be? Which coffee bar is the very best of Amsterdam? I've put down my favorites to get you started!

1. Corner Bakery

The ideal location for good coffee and a very broad breakfast menu! They're situated between the popular neighborhoods 'de Pijp' and 'Zuid'. From here you can walk to Museumplein and it's a cosy place where you'll find a lot of locals. From super healthy food to a delicious slice of applecake, they have it all at this hidden gem.

2. Koala Republic

When you're staying in the West part of Amsterdam, you def need to pay Koala Republic a visit. It's pretty new to the hood, but it feels like it's always been there! You feel at home from the minute you walk in here. Great coffee, surprising menu and friendly service. What do you need more?

3. The Lobby / Hotel V

This luxurious location is hidden from the big crowd, yet right in the city centre of Amsterdam. It's around the corner of Dam Square and not a place you bump into by accident. The Lobby is hip, modern, homy and absolutely trendy! They serve the perfect coffee and you must try their delicious wentelteefjes! Recommended!

4. The Breakfastclub

All day breakfast!! Need I say more? Right across the Foodhallen (you can roll from one to the other) in Amsterdam West you'll find this amazing place with the longest breakfast menu in town! Pancakes, eggs, sandwiches, cakes. Name it, they have it! Go go go!!

5. Coffee & Coconuts

Going for the healthy breakfast? Then eat your heart out (or your plate) at this cute and cosy coffee bar in 'de Pijp'. They serve granola bowls, home made sandwiches, buckwheat porridge and lots of fruits. They even have coconuts! You will chill in a beanbag and dream away with the best drinks and food in town.

6. Scandinavian Embassy

A small, cosy and hidden little coffee bar, again in 'de Pijp'. If you really dig the Scandinavian home deco you must pay this place a visit. They serve good coffee, but their sandwiches are to die for! Personal favorite: salmon bagel! Together with a home brewed coffee or fresh juice, your morning is perfect.

7. Pllek

A great coffee spot with even greater view! You have to take a short (5 min and free) ride on a ferry, and it's so worth it! Right at the water of the IJ you'll find this hotspot. You can also go here for great Gin and Tonics or some festivals during summer. So a definite must go!

8. Lot Sixty One Coffee Roasters

Here you'll find the true coffee experts! You can't miss this one if you're a real cafeine junky. Go get your brew at one of the two bars (yes, they are that popular!). Don't forget to combine your coffee with something sweet from the menu.

9. Bar Bukowski

A coffee bar with great outdoor terrace! While enjoying the sun, the friendly and handsome barista's serve you the hot stuff ;-) Or if it rains, go lounge or check out the attic! A great spot to check out when you're in the East of Amsterdam.

10. Pluk

Last but definitely not least: Pluk! Before you for a long run of shopping in the area better known as "De 9 Straatjes", you must get energized at this great place. A sweet, healthy and delicious! They offer you a big choice of cakes, sandwiches, salads and coffee and juices. You can even take out! Highly recommended!
